The Roxbury Trust Fund conducts two funding rounds per year, awarding a minimum of $300,000 in grants through a proposal review process. Funding announcements are listed in the Bay State Banner.

Unsolicited proposals are not accepted. We do not fund individuals, event tickets or direct political or lobbying activities.

Proposals are evaluated on the basis of applicant eligibility, collaborations, organizational effectiveness and diversity, cultural competency between staff and clients, impact and quality of services, cost reasonableness, responsiveness to funding priorities, and submission of all required materials.

Grants range from $10,000 to $30,000. The Trust may occasionally award capacity-building grants in the range of $5,000.

Grantees are required to submit mid-year and final reports showing satisfactory progress. Failure to comply with reporting requirements will result in the loss of eligibility to apply for future funding.

The Trust provides grants to non-profit organizations that are tax-exempt under Section 501(c)3, and "not a private foundation" as defined under section 509(a), of the Internal Revenue Code. An applicant may use a fiscal sponsor if the fiscal sponsor meets these requirements and submits a letter accepting expenditure responsibility.

Organizations must be located in Roxbury or have a Roxbury service location. Refer to the map of our Service Area for street boundaries.

The Trust will only approve one grant to an organization in a 12-month period. This is not a funding and re-funding process.

Grantees must comply with reporting requirements and demonstrate satisfactory progress in order to remain eligible for future funding.
